It's been over 2 years since local resident Tom Spring brought the iconic Australian garden maintenance franchise Jim's Mowing to the Suffolk Coast Area and in that time despite two droughts and some very cold winters Tom his seen his business grow from strength to strength.
Tom does much more than mowing however. He offers a full range of garden services including lawn treatment, turfing, hedge cutting, tree felling, general clean ups and pressure washing.
Whilst Tom grew up in Suffolk he has spent all of his adult life living and working in Australia and in South Africa. Initially working in Agriculture before he ended up working in the travel industry. On his return to the UK a couple of years ago he had a strong desire to get his hands dirty again. " Having lived for so long in Australia I was very familiar with Jim's so didn't need to be convinced of it's potential over here. Jim's is a hugely successful business we already have 25 franchisees over here and the potential is limitless" says Tom
Before starting as a "Jim" Tom completed a comprehensive Horticultural Training Course at Hadlow College in Kent. He has also completed the NPTC in Pesticides certificate and in Chainsaw usage as well as gaining loads of experience since joining Jim's.
