Jim’s Mowing Giffnock was established in 2011 by Boyd Carswell. Boyd arrived in Scotland in 1998 to play club rugby from the Waikato district of New Zealand. Boyd grew up and worked on large sheep & beef farms in NZ before working for his father’s civil engineering company in Fiji which provided him with plenty of experience in landscaping and gardening. Boyd has spent the last few years coaching rugby before deciding to return to working on the land. Through these work experiences Boyd has developed a sound working knowledge of fencing; drainage; land contouring; soil, grass & land maintenance as well as a passion and pride in doing high quality work.

The main areas covered by Boyd are Giffnock, Newlands, Clarkston, Busby, Carmunnock, Waterfoot and Eaglesham; however work will be undertaken as far away as Ayr, Helensburgh, Bearsden & Milngavie and all areas in between.

The core service of Jim's Mowing Giffnock is grass cutting, whether it be mowing the lawn on a one-off basis, once a fortnight or more regular than that. The mowing service can be extended to include fertiliser and herbicide treatments as well as scarifying and aerating to provide a comprehensive and integrated total lawn care program. Other gardening services such as hedge trimming, tree pruning, fencing and landscaping (hard/soft).
